What is the Den all about?
The Dryad’s Den is a community hub for cozy, analog, sober, table-based activities. Tired of loud clubs and bars, but still want to get out of the house? Tired of dating apps, but still want to meet people? Looking to make friends who enjoy games, crafts and puzzles? This is the place for you!
Puzzles
You’ll find puzzles of every shape and size at the Den. New, used, and rental puzzles are all available. You’ll find high quality brands, often from women, lgbtq, or minority owned small businesses. Want to try speed puzzling? We’ll have events for solo, pair and team speed puzzling - both recurring leagues and stand alone events. Interested in wooden puzzles? Autumn’s personal collection lives at the Den and is available for building in-store without paying the high cost to buy your own. Or do you just like to put together pretty pictures and never look at a clock? We’re all about that too!
Crafts
Always wanted to try crochet/needle felting/diamond painting/garland making/etc but don’t want to invest lots of money into supplies or don’t know where to start? We’ve got beginner level craft kits from LEGO-style botanical bricks to foam clay to amigurumi and lots more. Ready for a deeper dive? Coming soon you'll be able to sign up for classes with teachers to get personalized instruction on a variety of hand crafts.
Games
Love Cribbage but can’t find anyone to play with you? Maybe Scrabble, Dominoes, Mahjong, Bridge, or Chess? We’ve got many classic games and you’ll find like-minded folks to join you for leagues, tournaments and casual play. Plus, every month we’ll feature a family friendly board game that we’ll teach you how to play. Or maybe you’re into solving mysteries and crimes? Check out our Thursday Cold Case Club and figure out whodunit.
Gifts
The Dryad’s Den celebrates human artisanry in many forms. You’ll discover the work of artists in a wide variety of mediums such as clay, metal, wood and glass on consignment at the Den. Discover the Gifts of the Dryad: an advent-style medley of 7 wrapped and numbered gifts to take home and savor over a week. Or make your own selections for a loved one and let us wrap your choices in a beautiful display.
Community
Come to the Den with your book group, bridal shower, girl’s night, retiree group, family, friends or just bring yourself and meet new folks! We’ll host lots of socials focused on specific crafts or puzzles and open to anyone, plus have nights geared towards couples on dates, singles looking to mingle, transfolk, pagans, polyamorous peeps, immunocompromised, special needs, and many other subcultures.
Tea and Snacks
The Dryad’s Den features hand-blended teas in partnership with Dryad Teas, plus Chinese medicinal blends, as well as traditional tea varieties. We have hot water that’s always the perfect temperature, and hand-made store mugs. Mugs can be purchased to take home, or keep at the store in your own mug cubby with your name on it, and be used for free tea with every visit. We also carry sealed snacks and soft drinks available for purchase if you get munchy while you’re here.
